The story behind Tanja Tours.
Our story
Said was born and raised in Brussels. After years working for various Brussels administrations, in 2016 he chose to devote himself to writing, becoming an author, playwright and stage director. In parallel, over the past few years, he travelled across Morocco to rediscover his country of origin — and that is how Tanja Tours was born, from a single memory.
In 2024, on a journey across Morocco, Said crossed villages, coastal roads and landscapes, from Tangier to Dakhla. Reaching the Agadir region, his eye caught an old Renault, worn by time. A simple car, almost forgotten. And yet, something deep stirred in that moment.
That R4 took him straight back to his childhood. In the 1980s, his father had owned a Renault 4 too. Aboard that now-legendary car, they had set off on a long journey from Brussels to Tangier: endless roads, improvised stops, heat, fatigue and wonder. A trip on which one carried far more than luggage — dreams, reunions, and a living link between two shores.
Facing that old R4, found in Morocco decades later, all those memories came rushing back. And with them, a quiet certainty: travel isn't just a movement from one place to another. It's a story, an emotion, something passed on. That is the moment the idea of Tanja Tours was born.
Tanja Tours sets out to revive the soul of travel — authentic and human. Every itinerary is designed as an experience of encounter, discovery and sharing, inspired by a love of Morocco. Tanja Tours carries within it the spirit of that old Renault 4: simple, sincere, free, and turned towards adventure.
